We are currently looking for full-time – Senior Budget Analyst
Starting at $77,000 - $84,000; contingent upon experience, education, etc.
Position Summary: The Senior Budget Analyst, monitors, and manages complex budgets, analyzes financial data to identify trends and variances, forecasts financial needs, and provides recommendations to senior management for strategic financial decision-making. Key responsibilities include coordinating the annual budget process, developing and maintaining financial systems, ensuring budget compliance, preparing financial reports and presentations, and providing guidance and training to other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee budget preparation, set deadlines, review departmental submissions, and compile the annual budget book and grant books.
Analyze budgets, revenues, and expenditures to identify trends, variances, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
Develop financial forecasts and assist in planning and developing budget proposals and capital improvement plans.
Develop, maintain, and test financial databases, spreadsheets, and management systems to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
Create detailed reports, presentations, and reference documents to communicate financial findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
Monitor budgets to ensure adherence to policies and budgetary limitations while aligning with available funds and strategic goals.
Provide training and guidance to department heads and staff on budget policies, financial analysis techniques, and financial management.
Collaborate with department heads, executives, and other stakeholders to support financial planning, address needs, and negotiate adjustments to budget proposals. Lead or participate in complex budget-related projects as assigned.
Our Ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Significant experience in budget preparation, financial analysis, and management of complex accounting systems.
Strong numerical, analytical, and statistical skills to interpret complex financial data.
Mastery of accounting principles, financial markets, statistical techniques, and proficiency with accounting and spreadsheet software.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for presenting financial information and recommendations effectively.
